Back To School Blog Tour – Sprouting JubeJube

Welcome to my The Back To School Blog Tour! I am doing back flips at the prospect of sending these kids away all day! I have had a blast with them this summer but I am ready for a little mom time! To celebrate, my daughter and I are working on our sewing compromises! She doesn’t want anymore frilly dresses and skirts and wants the colors and fabrics she picks out! So for this blog tour, I let her pick it all! And I think she did great!

This is Carlie’s Dolman Top from Everything Your Mama Made & More. These patterns are quickly becoming staples in my daughter’s wardrobe because they have an air of maturity and tons of options! This version is a replica of a shirt that she saw in the mall and she loved the lace back. So she faithfully dug through my nightmare sewing stash room (I will clean when they go back to school) and found black stretch lace.

Toss this high low dolman on with a pair of jeans and tennis shoes and you have perfect school fashion.  Although she will have to wear an undershirt to school, it was 90 degrees today so she got a reprieve.

And the most awesome part of this top is it took me about 15 minutes to sew together. No hemming necessary but definitely optional.  I didn’t even sew the neckline.  Just serged shoulders and sides and tossed her the shirt!
