AVTR – Houndstooth Quilt Blog Tour

Hello everyone! I am back again with another wonderful quilt pattern from the incomparable Bobbie S. over at A Vision To Remember.  This pattern the Houndstooth quilt is perfect for fledgling quilters like myself. I think the most complicated part of this pattern is the cutting (which I messed up on but we will get to that a little later.)

First things first… the disclaimer…. this pattern and fabric was provided to me in exchange for giving my fair and honest opinion. And that is what I intend to do. The fabrics I used today are also available in the AVTR shop for sale as well as the pattern.

Admittedly, the light yellow was a little out of my comfort zone because all of the other décor I select is always so dark.  But as I began to piece together my quilt, I feel in love with the combination of yellow and the dusty brown.

So somewhere during the process I managed to misplace 2 squares and a strip of the border.  I was able to mix and match a little to make it still look cohesive.  And who doesn’t love the giant houndstooth shapes created with the squares?

I think overall it was a win! And my son fell in love with this one during the process, so I will gift it to him!  He gets overlooked in my sewing a lot.

Thank you so much for coming to my post and stop by again soon!

Be sure to check out all the amazing blankets on tour this week!

  1. Looks like you really did make it all turn out well, even after misplacing some key pieces! I love those fabrics together and your photos are really great.
