Hey guys! Welcome to my day on the Dress Up This Town Blog Tour! This HUGE tour is running all month long (yes, I know the month is almost over and has awesome giveaways each week! So don’t leave without scrolling down and entering to win!!!!
So the theme was “Dress Up This Town” but we were allowed to interpret that how we wished and sew for whoever we wished. If you follow my blog… which you should so do that…. then you know that I am determined to have a more adult wardrobe (in my opinion) so that I can be suitable for any setting. So I had to sew a dress for myself!!! And I remembered that I really loved my maternity version of Sisboom’s Angie dress! Click here if you missed it! And so I wanted another one that I could wear post baby.
Whew! And I even put on heels! Look at me growing up! So Angie is a great pattern as is… but….. I have some serious shopping limitations. I went to Walmart in search of the perfect fabric for this and I stumbled upon a .50/yard sale. I was so excited to get fabric I ran out without the single fold bias tape to finish the neckline and armholes… sigh.
So I grabbed some fabric I wasn’t particularly fond of from my stash (we all have that fabric, don’t deny it) and cut another set of bodice pieces. Using the burrito method, I created a fully lined bodice. I love the look of the bias finish and the ability to add a pop of color but I think I like the lined bodice just as well. Overall, a great win in the “adulting playbook” for me!
I love this pattern and I really love that I think the next one I make will be a size smaller because my workout plan is starting to pay off a little. So pardon my droopy shoulder a little and celebrate with me!
But wait! Before I leave… a huge thank you to Simply By Ti for organizing this tour and keep us wayward bloggers in order! Thank you to Sisboom Pattern Co for always making wonderful patterns. Thank you to my fellow blog tour participants, I have found 10 new patterns I NEED to have and been inspired! And the biggest thank you to all of you for reading! Please come back again, I love having you here! And enter to win the prizes!!!!
